How Winners Are
Selected
An award is only as meaningful as the standard behind it. This page explains exactly what we check, where our information comes from, and how we decide — so you can judge the credential on its merits, not our marketing.
You cannot buy this award. You earn it.
Nomination is free and carries no obligation. Businesses that do not meet our standards are declined — regardless of willingness to pay. The one-time activation fee, charged only after a business has already been approved, covers verification, hosting, and directory costs. It is never a factor in whether an award is granted.
Four Stages, One Standard
Every nominee moves through the same review. Nothing is skipped, and no stage can be paid past.
Nomination
A business is nominated — by its owner, a customer, or our research team. This is free and creates no commitment. We record the business name, website, and category.
Eligibility screening
We confirm the business is real, currently operating, and reachable. Nominees that cannot be verified as legitimate, active businesses are removed before scoring even begins.
Multi-point evaluation
Eligible nominees are scored against the criteria below — legitimacy, tenure, reputation, complaint history, and accreditation. Category-specific benchmarks apply (a healthcare provider and a design studio are not judged identically).
Decision
Businesses that clear the standard are approved and invited to activate their award. Those that fall short are respectfully declined. We do not award on the basis of payment, popularity, or nomination volume.
Our Evaluation Criteria
These are the concrete factors that determine an outcome — weighted to the business's category.
Legitimacy
The business is a real, registered, operating entity — verified against its website, public records, and, where available, accreditation directories.
Tenure & track record
Time in operation and a demonstrable history of delivering to customers. Longevity and consistency count.
Reputation & reviews
Independent customer reviews and ratings across public platforms — assessed for volume, recency, and sentiment, not a single cherry-picked source.
Complaint history
Patterns of unresolved complaints, regulatory actions, or serious disputes weigh against a nominee. Isolated, resolved issues are viewed in context.
Accreditation & credentials
Membership of accreditation bodies (e.g. BBB or local equivalents), licences, and professional certifications relevant to the field.
Impact & standing
Contribution to customers, industry, or community — measurable outcomes, not self-description.
Grounds for Decline
A nomination will not be awarded where we find:
- No evidence the business is real, active, or reachable
- A pattern of unresolved customer complaints or disputes
- Regulatory, licensing, or legal action of a serious nature
- Misrepresentation in the nomination or on the business's website
- Insufficient track record to assess against the category standard
Independence & Integrity
- Payment does not influence outcomes. The fee is charged only after approval and never affects the decision.
- We accept no sponsorship or advertising in exchange for an award.
- Awards are reviewed on merit. A badge found to have been obtained through misrepresentation can be revoked.
- Every award is independently verifiable by anyone, at any time, against the registered domain.
Anyone Can Verify a Winner — Independently
Every award badge links to a verification page tied to the winner's registered website. When a visitor clicks it, our system checks the domain and confirms whether the award is authentic. If an unauthorised site displays the badge, the page states plainly that it is not a recognised winner. This is what separates a verified credential from a graphic anyone could copy.

Domain matches the registered business — award is authentic.
Not Recognised
Domain does not match — unauthorised display of the badge.
